Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and Washington Adventist Hospital – both part of Adventist HealthCare – have been recognized as top hospitals in the D.C. and Montgomery County region by U.S. News & World Report. Of the 59 hospitals in the Washington, D.C. area listed, Washington Adventist ranked 7th and Shady Grove Adventist ranked 11th.

The U.S. News rankings, released today, were based on a number of adult specialties.

Washington Adventist Hospital was recognized as high-performing in six areas:

  • Diabetes & Endocrinology
  • Neurology & Neurosurgery
  • Gastroenterology & Gastrointestinal Surgery
  • Geriatrics
  • Nephrology

Shady Grove Adventist Hospital was recognized as high-performing in four areas:

  • Neurology & Neurosurgery
  • Gastroenterology & Gastrointestinal Surgery
  • Geriatrics
  • Nephrology

Both hospitals have been continually recognized for the quality care provided to patients with many serious health conditions. Recent recognition includes:

  • Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Awards from the American Heart Association for both hospitals.
  • Joint Replacement Program Gold Seal of Approval by the Joint Commission for Shady Grove Adventist.
  • Cycle IV Chest Pain Center with PCI Accreditation for Washington Adventist.
