Adventist HealthCare Walking Club Adventist HealthCare and Westfield Montgomery Mall have teamed up to promote healthy and active lifestyles in our community via our Adventist HealthCare Walking Club. Join us for a walk on Tuesdays in the Westfield Montgomery Mall food court from 8:00 am to 9:30 am.
Pre Diabetes Class Learn about food and nutrition, exercise, stress, and other important information for preventing diabetes. This program is a two-part class where you’ll develop a greater understanding of how lifestyle factors affect disease progression and the changes you can make to prevent diabetes. Class are offered Thursday mornings.
Baby Care Basics Learn how to care for your newborn during those challenging first weeks. Topics include bathing, diapering, cord care, circumcision care, taking a temperature and when to call the doctor. This is a great companion class for our Childbirth Express Class! The next classes are Monday, September 23 & 28 from 7:00 to 9:30 pm.
Weight Loss Surgery Seminar We offer preoperative informational seminars for people interested in weight loss surgery. You have an option to attend a seminar or participate in an online Webinar, whichever is more convenient for you and are encouraged to bring friends and or family for support. In addition, we offer preoperative Friends and Family support group meetings. The next meeting is Wednesday, September 25 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Beginning T’ai Chi Ch’uan T’ai Chi Ch’ian is a set of naturally flowing movements performed slowly in a sequence with a spirit of calmness, balance and awareness. It teaches ways of relaxation and is excellent for stress reduction and developing strength and flexibility. Classes start September 28.
Thyroid Cancer Support Group Regardless of format, in a support group, you’ll find people with problems similar to yours. Members of support group typically share their personal experiences and offer one another emotional support and moral support. This group is available to all persons who share a thyroid cancer experience – current patients, survivors, care givers, family and friends and meets next on October 1 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
Maternity Orientation & Tour at Washington Adventist Hospital If you are expecting a baby or planning for the future, come to a short presentation on our maternity services, and tour our labor and delivery suite and the mother/baby unit. Make sure to register ahead of time for our next class on Sunday, October 6 from 12:00 to 1:30 pm.
Big Brother & Big Sister Class Siblings (ages 3 to 9 years) will see a video, hear a story and talk about a new baby arriving in their family. Children will choose a gift to take home for the baby. Parents should plan to attend with their children! The next class is Wednesday, October 2 from 5:30 to 6:45 pm.
