Tuesday June 24, 8-9:30am
Adventist HealthCare Walking Club: Join us this Tuesday for a health chat with Dr. Avni Jain, primary care physician with Adventist Medical Group, who will discuss the importance of “Knowing Your Numbers”. Free blood pressure screenings will also be provided. Located in the food court at Westfield Montgomery Mall.
Tuesday, June 24, 6-7pm
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) & Pulmonary Embolism (PE) Support Group: This free support group will help answer questions and assist patients and their families with the physical implications and emotional stress of a DVT and/or PE diagnosis. Support group meets quarterly in the Willow Room at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.

Cholesterol, Heart Health & Other Screenings: We will be offering comprehensive screenings for cancer, cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes and body fat. Fees vary. Located at Washington Adventist Hospital.

Blood Pressure Screenings: Free blood pressure screenings offered each month at Gaithersburg Upcounty Senior Center.

Blood Pressure Screenings: Free blood pressure screenings offered the fourth Thursday of each month at the Takoma Park Community Center.
Tuesday, June 24, 12:30-2pm
All Cancers Support Group: This group is available to all persons who share a cancer experience – current patients, survivors, caregivers, family and friends. This support group meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at the Shady Grove Adventist Aquilino Cancer Center.

BEST Program: Breastfeeding Education, Support & Togetherness: Breastfeeding moms and their babies may join this informal group with a lactation consultant for breastfeeding information, support, and assistance. Limited space available; registration is required. Located at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.
Wednesday, July 9, 5:30-6:30pm (Advance registration required)
Big Brother & Big Sister Class: In our Big Brother & Big Sister Class, siblings (ages 3 to 9 years) will watch a video, hear a story and talk about a new baby arriving in their family. Limited space available; registration is required. Located at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.
Saturday, July 12, 9-11:30am (Advance registration required)
Breastfeeding Class: A 2-1/2 hour prenatal class designed to help expectant parents get off to the right start with breastfeeding after the birth of their baby. Limited space available; registration is required. Located at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.
Saturday, July 12-Sunday, July 13, 10am-5pm (Advance registration required)
Childbirth & Baby Care Course: Course is conveniently presented in two 6-hour sessions over one weekend. Topics include but are not limited to: labor and delivery, breathing and relaxation techniques, comfort measures, medications, hospital procedures, cesarean delivery, postpartum care, and baby care basics. Limited space available; registration is required. Located at Washington Adventist Hospital.
CPR & FIRST AID CLASSES
Saturday, June 28, 2pm-5pm
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Course: Learn how to perform CPR on Adults, Children and Infants along with relieving choking. Upon successful completion, students will receive a 2-year certification card from the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI). Fee: $60. Located in the Willow Room at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.

Weight Loss Surgery Webinar: We offer preoperative informational seminars for people interested in weight loss surgery. You have an option to attend a seminar or participate in an online Webinar, and are encouraged to bring friends and/or family for support.

Post-operative Weight Loss Surgery Support Group: We offer Post-operative Support Groups for people who have undergone weight loss surgery. Don’t walk the road alone, we are here to help you along your weight loss journey. Located in the Maple Room at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.
Diabetes Outpatient Education Programs: This comprehensive, three-class series will help you learn how to manage your diabetes with tips on self-care, eating right and more. Covered by most health insurances. Call your carrier to verify your coverage. A physician’s referral is required. Offered monthly at Shady Grove Adventist and Washington Adventist Hospitals.
Diabetes Support Group: Through these free group sessions, individuals will be able to discuss their experiences with pre-diabetes or diabetes and learn from others, including a Certified Diabetes Educator, in a comfortable environment. Offered monthly at Washington Adventist Hospital.
Pre-diabetes Class: Learn how to manage pre-diabetes and prevent type 2 diabetes in this free two-class series. Individuals will learn about carb counting, how to create a food log and exercise. Offered bi-monthly at Shady Grove Adventist and Washington Adventist Hospitals.
