We all know we should drink more water, especially in these hot summer months, but sometimes it can be hard. Here are some tips to help you increase your water intake to ensure you stay healthy and hydrated.
Set an alarm: Most of us get so busy with work or family that we just simply forget to drink water! Try setting an alarm on your phone at the top of every hour as a reminder to get a drink of water. This will also help you take a break for yourself and allow you to reset.
Less Refills: By using a large water container you won’t have to refill it as often, this makes it convenient and easy to keep drinking throughout the day.
Keep track: A lot of people think they are consuming enough water, but they aren’t. One way to be sure you are drinking enough is to keep track. There are several apps that allow you to track your water consumption or you could create markers on your water bottle. You could use rubber bands, or a pen, some water bottles even come with markers already on them!
Eat your water: Did you know that food can also provide hydration? A lot of fruits and vegetables contain water so by eating these foods you are also helping hydrate yourself.
Replace a drink: If you are a soft drink consumer try replacing one soft drink with a cup of water instead. You can add fruit or herbs to add flavor!
Drinking more water has several benefits. Water helps keep your body temperature normal, lubricate and cushion your joints, help protect your spinal cord and other sensitive tissues, as well as help get rid of waste in the body. Try out these tips to help you increase your water consumption and stay hydrated this summer.
